जीवन वृत्त एवं कला विवरण (Hindi)

गोण्ड चित्रकार कुम्हार सिंह धुर्वे का जन्म पाटनगढ़ जिला डिण्डौरी में हुआ। जंगल-पहाड़ों के बीच आप पले-बढ़े और वर्तमान में भी यहीं निवासरत हैं। आपकी उम्र लगभग 50 वर्ष है और आप मूलत: खेती-किसानी करते हैं। आपके पिता का नाम स्व. प्रहलाद सिंह धुर्वे एवं माता का नाम स्व. बेयन बाई है। आपकी पत्नी का देहावसान हो चुका है। आपकी तीनों संतानें (दो पुत्र एवं एक पुत्री) गोण्ड चित्रकला कार्य से जुड़ी हुई हैं।

आपकी चित्रकला यात्रा इन अर्थों में परम्परा के भिन्न है कि आपने इसे अपने पुत्रों के सान्निध्य और संगति में सीखा है। प्रारम्भ में आप उनके चित्रकर्म में सहयोग करने लगे और फिर धीरे-धीरे स्वतंत्र रूप से भी चित्रकला करने लगे। आपने प्रयागराज, दिल्ली आदि में कुछ एकल चित्रकला प्रदर्शनियों में भाग लिया है। आप अपनी सफलता का श्रेय अपनी संतानों को ही देते हैं। आपके चित्रों में पशु-पक्षी और जंगल-पहाड़ों का जीवन प्रमुखता से देखने को मिलता है।

Kumhar Singh Dhurve (कुम्हार सिंह धुर्वे) represents the living tribal art legacy of Madhya Pradesh, originating from Patangarh (Dindori). As part of Aadivart State Museum's ongoing commitment to indigenous master practitioners, their solo exhibition cum sale was curated in the prestigious Likhandra Exhibition Gallery ('लिखन्दरा प्रदर्शनी दीर्घा') under the monthly Shalaka - 35 initiative (Feb 2026).

Kumhar Singh Dhurve represents an inspiring intergenerational dialogue in Gond painting from Patangarh, Dindori. Uniquely learning the refined discipline of Gond art alongside his own talented children, his works have been featured in solo exhibitions across Prayagraj and New Delhi.
