Born in Bijapuri in the tribal hinterland of Dindori, Manisha Dhurve’s paintings are vibrant expressions of Gond ancestral lore, celebrating animal protectors, forest groves, and the spiritual bond between humanity and the earth.
युवा गोण्ड चित्रकार मनीषा धुर्वे का जन्म मध्यप्रदेश के जनजातीय बहुल डिण्डौरी जिले के ग्राम बीजापुरी में हुआ। कृषक पिता श्री तीथलाल की तीन संतानों में आप सबसे छोटी हैं। जंगल-पहाड़ों से घिरे ग्रामीण वातावरण और प्रकृति के सान्निध्य में आपका बचपन गुजरा।
आपका विवाह वर्ष 2012 में श्री संतोष धुर्वे के साथ हुआ, जो गोण्ड चित्रकला के चर्चित कलाकार हैं। विवाह के पश्चात् पति के सान्निध्य और मार्गदर्शन में आपने पारम्परिक गोण्ड चित्रकला की बारीकियों को सीखा। वरिष्ठ गोण्ड चित्रकार श्री रामनारायण मरावी के चित्रकर्म से भी आप अत्यन्त प्रेरित हैं।
Manisha Dhurve was born in the forested hamlet of Bijapuri, Dindori. Following her marriage in 2012 to noted Gond artist Santosh Dhurve, she honed her painting skills under his guidance and the artistic legacy of master painter Ramnarayan Maravi.
Now creating from Bhopal, Manisha participates in group exhibitions across India. Her compositions feature delicate stippling, sacred banyan and saaj canopies, and mythological animal spirits.
