ब्रजभूषण धुर्वे

परधान गोण्ड समुदाय के 38 वर्षीय ब्रजभूषण धुर्वे गोण्ड चित्रकला की वर्तमान पीढ़ी के चित्रकारों में परिचित नाम है। आपका जन्म ग्राम पाटनगढ़, जिला डिण्डोरी में हुआ। बचपन जंगल-पहाड़ों से घिरे ग्रामीण वातावरण में गुजरा और प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा भी यहीं हुई। आप डिण्डोरी महाविद्यालय से कला में स्नातक हैं। पढ़ाई-लिखाई के साथ आप अपने कृषक पिता श्री भादुलाल धुर्वे के खेती कार्यों में भी सहायता करते रहे।

युवा दिनों में गोण्ड चित्रकार श्री कैलाश परधान, जो रिश्ते में चाचा लगते हैं, के चित्रकला कार्यों को देखकर आपको भी कला के प्रति रुचि जाग्रत हुई और कुछ समय तक उनके साथ काम किया। उन्हीं दिनों में ‘ट्राइब्स इण्डिया सेण्टर’ द्वारा तीन माह के लिए कला-शिविर डिण्डोरी में आयोजित किया गया था, वहीं आपकी कला को व्यवस्थित मार्गदर्शन मिला और आपने चित्रकला की बारीकियों को सीखा-समझा और तदुपरांत स्वतंत्र रूप से चित्रकला का कार्य करने लगे।

आप विवाहित हैं और आपकी पत्नी श्रीमती सत्यवती धुर्वे भी आपके सान्निध्य में पारम्परिक चित्रकला को सीख रही हैं और आपके चित्रकर्म में सहायता करती हैं। कोरोना काल के बाद आप आजीविका और चित्रकला में अधिक अवसर के लिए राजधानी भोपाल में स्थायी रूप से आ बसे। आपने दिल्ली, मुम्बई, बैंगलोर, पुणे आदि नगरों में आयोजित कुछेक एकल एवं संयुक्त चित्रकला प्रदर्शनियों में भाग लिया है। कुछ स्कूल-कॉलेजों के कला-शिविरों में आप नयी पीढ़ी के बच्चों को भी पारम्परिक चित्रकारी सिखाते हैं। आपके चित्रों में जंगल और प्रकृति का चित्रण प्रमुखता से देखने को मिलता है।

Brijbhushan Dhurve

Brijbhushan Dhurve, a 38-year-old artist from the Pardhan Gond community, is a familiar name among the current generation of Gond painters. He was born in Patangarh village, Dindori district. His childhood was spent in a rural environment surrounded by forests and hills, and his primary education took place there. He holds a bachelor's degree in arts from Dindori College. Alongside his studies, he also assisted his farmer father, Shri Bhadulal Dhurve, in agricultural work.

In his youth, seeing the paintings of Gond artist Shri Kailash Pardhan, who is his uncle by relation, sparked his interest in art, and he worked with him for some time. During those days, a three-month art camp was organized in Dindori by the 'Tribes India Centre', where his art received systematic guidance. He learned and understood the nuances of painting and subsequently began working independently.

He is married, and his wife, Smt. Satyavati Dhurve, is also learning traditional painting under his guidance and assists him in his artwork. After the COVID-19 pandemic, he permanently relocated to the capital city of Bhopal in search of better livelihood and artistic opportunities. He has participated in several solo and joint art exhibitions held in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Pune. In art camps at various schools and colleges, he also teaches traditional painting to the younger generation. His paintings prominently feature depictions of forests and nature.
